“If a dental implant is permanent, why would I need mine restored?”
A dental implant is a very durable, long-lasting replacement of your natural tooth. If the original post was properly implanted and integrated with the bone, it can last a lifetime. The crown portion of your implant, however, is subject to the same normal wear as a natural tooth.
Although we don’t surgically place dental implants here at EvoSmile, Dr. Igor Ochev can restore the existing crown portion of your implant by repairing or replacing it.
DID YOU KNOW?
Dr. Ochev has been serving Marin for more than 20 years. He’s honored to be the San Rafael dentist with the most 5-star reviews on Yelp.
This procedure usually requires two appointments with us, usually over two to three weeks.
Restoring a dental implant involves making a new connector piece (abutment) and a crown. Dr. Ochev takes a digital scan of your existing implant and neighboring teeth to create this new portion for you.
Dr. Ochev cleans the implant area and carefully fits your replacement connector and crown to ensure the spacing and your bite are accurate. Then he attaches the restoration to your existing threaded post.
You’ll receive care instructions at the end of your treatment. Please give us a call if you have any questions. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental checkups with us will help extend the life of your restoration.
