When a tooth is removed, both the visible part called the crown and the root are lost. A dental implant fuses with your natural bone and becomes the foundation for replacement teeth. Although cavities cannot occur on implant-restored crowns, they are subject to the same normal wear as natural teeth.
Restoring a dental implant involves making a new abutment (post) and a crown (cap) for it. A crown procedure usually requires two appointments, usually over two to three weeks.
We take a digital scan of the implant and neighboring teeth.
Dr. Ochev cleans the implant area and carefully fits your replacement post and crown to ensure the spacing and your bite are accurate. Your replacement tooth is attached to the implant securely, providing excellent stability and comfort.
You’ll receive care instructions at the end of your treatment. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your restoration.
