A fixed bridge is a non-removable dental appliance that replaces your missing tooth, thereby “bridging” the gap between two teeth.
A porcelain fixed bridge is the most popular because it resembles your natural teeth.
It typically consists of a false tooth fused between two crowns that are cemented to two anchoring teeth.
As with most dental restorations, a fixed bridge is not always permanent and may someday need to be re-cemented or replaced due to normal wear.
It’s highly durable and will last many years, giving you a long-lasting, beautiful smile.

What does it involve?
Getting a fixed bridge usually requires two or more appointments. It includes taking several highly accurate impressions (molds) that will be used to create a temporary bridge and a new, permanent bridge.
Your Visit
While your teeth are numb, Dr. Ochev prepares the two anchoring teeth by removing a portion of enamel to allow for the crowns. He places the temporary bridge with temporary cement and ensures that you’re biting properly. You’ll wear the temporary bridge for several weeks while a dental laboratory makes your permanent bridge.
Your Second Visit
Dr. Ochev removes your temporary bridge and then carefully checks, adjusts, and cements your permanent bridge to achieve a proper fit. Occasionally, he may temporarily cement your permanent bridge to allow your teeth and tissue time to get used to it. If this is the case, he’ll permanently cement your new bridge at your third visit.
Caring for Your New Bridge
You’ll receive care instructions at the end of your treatment. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new, permanent bridge.
